Peace Is Not Passive — It's Built

Every year, something powerful happens when a community decides to show up for itself. For seven years, UNITEEE Violence and Incarceration Prevention has watched that power unfold at "Peace in Our Streets" — and this July, we're inviting you to be part of it again.

Our mission has never wavered: to promote peace, reduce violence, and build stronger bonds across all communities through collective action and mutual understanding. That mission doesn't live in a conference room or a policy document. It lives in the streets, the schools, the rec centers — and most importantly, in the people who gather and say: we choose something different.

"Peace in Our Streets is more than an event — it's a movement toward positive change in our communities."

What This Gathering Stands For

In a time when neighborhoods are too often defined by their challenges, "Peace in Our Streets" reclaims the narrative. This is a space for community members to engage in honest dialogue, connect across cultural lines, and commit together to the safety and wellbeing of every family on every block.

Community Dialogue

Real conversations between neighbors, youth, and leaders — building trust where it matters most.

Violence Prevention

Awareness, resources, and collective commitment to breaking cycles of harm before they begin.

Cross-Cultural Unity

Breaking down barriers and finding the common humanity that connects us across difference.

Lasting Partnerships

Forging relationships between organizations, families, and institutions built to endure.

Why Your Presence Matters

Showing up is an act of solidarity. When you walk through the doors of this event, you're not just attending — you're adding your voice to a collective declaration that your community deserves peace, safety, and dignity.

Your presence helps create safer spaces for children and families. It supports the ongoing work of violence prevention. It builds the foundation for a neighborhood where every person — regardless of background — belongs. And it strengthens the partnerships that turn single events into sustained movements.

This year marks a milestone: seven years of showing up, seven years of building something real. The work continues because people like you continue to believe it's worth doing.
