What we do
Uniteee Violence and Incarceration Prevention builds safer streets and stronger futures for youth and families. We focus on children with incarcerated parents, young people under pressure in challenged communities, and neighbors ready to show up for one another.
Our work runs through the E³ framework: Educate, Empower, Enhance. Every program below is designed to teach real skills, restore dignity, and give people practical ways to stay free from cycles of violence and incarceration.
Peer support groups
Healing is harder alone. Our peer-to-peer groups give people a safe room to be honest, learn from others who have walked similar paths, and leave with tools they can use the same week.
What participants work on
Confidence, assertiveness, and clear communication
Trauma-informed support that respects each person’s story
Emotional regulation and stress management for daily life
Positive self-talk and healthier ways to handle conflict
Boundaries at home, school, work, and in the neighborhood
Groups are practical, not performative. People practice skills together, then take them back into real relationships and real streets.
Life experience trips
Getting out of familiar surroundings can unlock growth that a classroom alone cannot. Our life experience trips put youth and community members in new places, with guided activities that build trust, courage, and joy.
What these trips open up
Space to challenge limiting beliefs in a supported setting
Team challenges and shared wins that stick
Nature-based and mindfulness time that lowers the temperature
Deeper connection to personal strength and to one another
Featured experience: Santa Monica Beach Day Retreat
A coastal day that mixes group activities, mindfulness, team-building, and time by the water. Participants leave with more than photos. They leave with proof they can show up differently.
Community engagement
Peace does not hold if people never meet across lines. We create places where neighbors talk, build, and serve side by side.
How we bring people together
Community dialogue workshops that surface hard truths without tearing people down
Collaborative projects that put hands on shared goals
Cultural exchange events that honor difference and build belonging
Volunteer opportunities that meet local needs and grow civic muscle
This is how “Peace In Our Streets” stays more than a slogan. It becomes a habit of showing up.
Education and awareness
Stories change minds faster than lectures. Our education work gives people room to tell the truth about incarceration, violence, and survival, and invites the wider community to listen.
What we offer
Personal narrative programs so lived experience is shared with dignity
Empathy-building sessions that stretch how we see one another
Discussion groups on complex social issues, held with respect
Resource sharing so community wisdom does not stay locked in one corner
When stereotypes meet a real person, they lose power. That is the point of this work.
Violence prevention
We interrupt harm before it hardens into a life sentence for a young person or a family. Prevention here means root causes, early response, and skills people can use in the moment.
How we approach prevention
Trauma-informed intervention that treats the wound, not only the symptom
Early support when risk factors show up, before a crisis peaks
Conflict resolution and de-escalation training
Emotional intelligence work that strengthens how people handle pressure
Restorative accountability that repairs harm instead of only punishing it
The goal is simple to say and hard to do: fewer kids lost to violence, fewer families broken by incarceration, more neighbors equipped to keep the peace.
Youth empowerment: Shoe and Sock Initiative
Every month, Uniteee provides new shoes and socks for up to 15 underprivileged youth. Footwear is basic. Dignity is not optional.
How it works
Dignity, A new pair of shoes says: you matter, you deserve comfort and respect.
Protection, Quality socks go with every pair so feet stay protected and cared for.
Forward motion, Kids walk into school and community life with less shame and more confidence.
Why it matters
Better foot health and hygiene when living conditions are already hard
Fewer barriers to showing up at school ready to learn
A real lift in self-esteem for kids who have gone without
A visible sign that the community is investing in their future
This program is small on purpose and consistent on purpose. Month after month, youth feel the difference on their feet and in how they carry themselves.
